For therapists opening a private practice

You're a skilled clinician. Nobody taught you how to run a practice.

Grad school prepared you to sit with clients. It didn't prepare you to set your fees, choose an EHR, decide on insurance, or find your first ten clients. I'm a licensed therapist who built my own practice, and I'll show you the path in order, so you can open with confidence instead of guesswork.

Therapist

Sound familiar?

You're ready to leave agency work or group practice, but the business side feels like a different language.

You don't know what to charge, or how many clients a week you need to replace your salary.

Insurance panels or private pay? Every colleague gives you a different answer.

Underneath it all is a quiet question: am I really allowed to do this?

You are. You just need the steps, and someone who's walked them.

Start with the free Private Practice Readiness Scorecard + Practice Roadmap

I've made every one of these decisions myself.

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with my own private practice. I also built Tuladhara Yoga across three locations and spent years as a corporate Director, leading teams of thousands.

I understand both sides: the clinician who cares deeply about the work, and the business owner who has to keep the lights on. You don't have to choose between them.

Questions

Can I start my practice part-time while I keep my current job?

Yes, many therapists do. The fee and caseload calculator helps you plan how and when to make the full move.

IShould I take insurance or go private pay?

You are free to edit, rebrand and adapt every document for use in your own studios training. What you can't do is resell or redistribute the curriculum itself to other studios or teachers. The purchase agreement spells this out plainly.

Is this specific to my state?

The curriculum is structured around RYS-200 competencies, with an hour breakdown mapping contact hours, practicum, homework, and class observations to the full 200. Registering your school with yoga alliance remains your studios choice and responsibility.

I'm still pre-licensed. Is it too early?

Yes, you need to provide the qualified teacher. The facilitator manual walks you through every module objectives, session flow, key concepts, activities, and the questions students most often ask.

What if I want personal guidance?

Digitally, in editable formats so you can customize and print your own materials. You'll have everything you need to open enrollment for your next cohort.
